How do I get the hood of my tub drum trap?

You will not like this method, but they can be a royal pita bread, some of these covers act as if they are welded. What you do is drill a hole in it large enough for a blade saws-all there and cut the dough forms cover up just the threads. Beware do not cut more, and use many TFE paste when you put the new cover on. You will be able to remove the pieces that way. Could be just as easily switch to a p-trap and be done with this dinosaur once and for all
