has anyone else ever heard of The Pop Group?
I was in a record store a hell of a long time ago and found an album that didn’t even really have an outer sleeve with a picture on it… it was distributed with just an inner-sleeve type of deal with the record label shown in the middle. The group was The Pop Group and the album was We Are Time. It came out on Rough Trade so there was something of a familiarity factor as far as the label was concerned but the music was so out-there that I figured it might eventually find its way in the cosmos simply by perseverance, haha.
Well, they were considered to be a punk band from the late seventies-early eighties and, believe it or not, I found one of their songs uploaded to youtube so I’ll give a link to it. I’d like to know what you think of it.

Yes, I’ve heard and heard of the The Pop Group, but I listen to some of their contempories more than I do them. “so out-there” – agreed, definitely a more avant-garde post-punk.
